our store is now closed while our founder is on maternity leave

A mixture of tools and techniques were used for our first print collection. These included calligraphy inks and brushes, thick paints, stamps, stipple brushes and ink rollers.
Over 100 initial prints were created by hand before eventually being narrowed down to just six. The original artwork was photographed and imported into design software where any rogue ink marks were removed. Background colour options were also added and composition adjustments were made to achieve the best visual balance.
Before sending the artwork to our supplier for testing, the paper stock was chosen. This ensured we'd be checking a true representation of how the final prints would look and feel. An FSC certified Munken stock was settled on for its soft matte finish at a thick 240gsm.
Once the print tests arrived and the initial wave of relief felt, next came the tricky task of committing to background colours and final designs. 14 options had been sent so the final edit could be done with the printed versions - we needed to set aside 12 designs. After a lot umming and ahing, we had the final set.
We're so happy with the result and it has been great to see photos of our prints in their new homes.
